CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

About the Role
Driver houses a CLIA and CAP accredited laboratory that utilizes cutting edge automation and next generation sequencing technology to provide immunohistochemical and molecular diagnostic test results. As a Clinical Lab Scientist, you will be involved in the complete lab process which touches everything from sample procurement to customer support to product operations. This role requires constant communication between the various departments working to improve quality of life for cancer patients worldwide.
- Perform high complexity laboratory tests, procedures and analyses according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures.
- Perform and review laboratory quality control procedures.
- Document corrective action taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
- Perform and document regular equipment maintenance, laboratory decontamination, and hazardous waste disposal.
- Maintain laboratory reagent and supply inventory, ordering as needed.
- Assess new technologies and platforms for possible introduction into the clinical laboratory.
- Must possess a valid California CLS or CGMBS license.
- Completion of a CLS, CGMBS or equivalent training program at an accredited institution and clinical laboratory work experience as a CLS, CGMBS or equivalent.
- Possess working knowledge of local, state and federal laboratory regulations.
- Must be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.
- Must be able to follow detailed instructions and work independently without constant supervision.
- Prefer Next Generation Sequencing, assay development, and/or automation experience, but not required.

The faculty of the Department of Clinical Science in the Division of Health Sciences at California State University Dominguez Hills invites applications from individuals for Program Director and Tenure Track position at rank of Associate or Full Professor in its National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) MLS/MT Program.
Administrative duties commensurate with those of Program Director for its National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) MLS/MT Program, teach disciplinary pre-clinical lectures and labs and clinical correlation discussion courses, advise students and assist with on-going student learning outcomes and assessment activities. The faculty member will be expected to demonstrate a record of scholarship and service in alignment with the Division's Reappointment, Tenure and Promotion (RTP) guidelines.

The MT/MLS program option is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) until 2026 and is the sponsoring institution for multiple affiliated laboratories approved to provide clinical training for its eligible students by the California Department of Public Health, Laboratory Field Services

- Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
- Clinical laboratory certification MLS/MT(ASCP or ASCPi) generalist.
- Clinical laboratory experience and/or teaching experience in a clinical science program. (at least 3 years)
- Has knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures
- A record of or potential for successful scholarship
- A record of university and/or professional service
- Experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- Doctorate in Clinical Laboratory Science or related discipline or related field

Sutter Health, one of Northern California’s largest nonprofit networks of hospitals, physician groups, and health care services, is seeking candidates for Clinical Lab Scientist II, CLS (Microbiology) with various shifts available. The CLS position performs all aspects of pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic activities of the laboratory path of workflow appropriate for the Clinical Laboratory section (s) to which assigned, which includes one or more of the Shared Laboratory clinical specialties. Analytical testing is performed on blood and/or body fluids, utilizing both manual and automated methods, to obtain information necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Where automated methods are used, this position provides preventive maintenance for analytical equipment and performs minor adjustments and repairs.
Qualified applicants will have a baccalaureate degree in clinical laboratory or related sciences, or evidence of equivalent college education and laboratory training used to fulfill the state requirement for license, with a minimum of three years of experience in a clinical laboratory working as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license. Must have proven written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate an ability to effectively interact with medical professionals, and lead personnel in a variety of situations by effectively applying transactional and transitional skills. Must also have demonstrated ability in problem solving, coaching for results, and organizing, prioritizing and managing diverse activities in a changing environment.

Department of Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System, a teaching facility, is actively seeking 2 full-time generalist clinical laboratory scientists
1 position to work AM shift with rotating weekends
2nd position to work PM shift with rotating weekends.
Testing procedures are performed on a variety of biological specimens primarily using automated techniques (including some manual techniques), and require a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Duties include routine and stat testing in all areas of the laboratory to support in-patient and out-patient care, as well as a robust ER serving our Valley veterans.
VACCHCS is CAP accredited and has a state-of-the-art, full service laboratory, which provides 24/7 service. National certification is required upon hire or within one year of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field is required with NACCLS accredited training. State licensure is not required. VACCHCS offers excellent benefits/competitive salary
